Training Overview
We realise that many people finish DTS and are still hungry for more missions experience and more training at a formational and foundational time in your life. We are also aware that people join our staff and could really do with more training in leadership, in missions, in spiritual formation/discipleship, in reconciliation, in Biblical worldview and many other core areas. Therefore we felt we should put together a really quality school that combines formal lecture training with on-the-job mentoring in the life of being a full time missionary at An Cuan. We also wanted a school that would draw out some of the key elements of the DNA of our calling as YWAM Ireland. Thus we will also have input on Celtic Christian history, community in a post-modern, 21st Century context, and reconciliation in a post-conflict culture.
A key part of EQUIP is to challenge a sense of rootlessness in many of us in our twenties. There is a sense that many young people are emerging with a need for roots in their spiritual life and wings, or a sense of empowerment, to achieve the calling that is on their life. As part of the school therefore we want to make spiritual growth a key theme alongside finding your passion and the deep calling that God is wanting to put on your life.
"The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world's deep hunger meet." Frederick Buechner

Learning
Know God more deeply, live more like Jesus and use your gifts and passions in missions.

What you'll experience during the lecture phase
- Get to the heart of following Jesus
Local and international guest speakers explore a range of topics related to authentically following Jesus. These times are about making a personal response to what we're learning, drawing closer in intimacy with God, letting Him shape us and discovering more of His purposes for our lives.
- More than just lectures...
Encounter God -- through worship, one-on-one discipleship, small group discussion times, prayer, random fun, practical service, reaching out to the community, and more -- all in the context of our international mission community.
- Use your gifts for His purposes
Engage in workshops, seminars, one-on-one input and dialogue with people who are effectively using media, art and photography in the nations. We look at God's intentions for creativity and communication and what it means to follow Him in that. Get introduced to a world of opportunities to use your gifts for His purposes!
Outreach
To bring the Good News to those who haven't heard
The gospel was never meant to stay safely within four walls - the good news is meant for every person and every part of society! It transforms lives, communities and nations and we're all called to be a part of sharing it.
So after three months of intensive discipleship and training, we put it all into practice on outreach and in community living. Outreach teams head to different countries, ready to communicate the love of God in word, action -- and creativity. Also be prepared to grow in community living at An Cuan and learn how the gifts of service and hospitality can transform lives.
